***MUST BE PICKED UP FROM FOOD CONNECT'S SALISBURY HOMESTEAD***
Certified Naturally Farmed Lamb from the family farm of Steve and Julie Stead in the Granite Belt.
As Julie describes "We started out with just 3 sheep, (all tamed and personally named so eating them was out the question!) with the idea being to breed our own chemical, hormone free lambs for our own growing family……since then our flock has multiplied (no more names though!) and occasionally we get to share some of what we eat at our table with your table! Our lambs are Dorpers. This means they are self shedders (wool) and are bred for meat. In our opinion they are the nicest tasting breed of lamb. Not too much fat, not too strong. Their diet consists mostly of the wild grasses of the Granite Belt here on our farm and most of them would still have been on their mothers as well as eating grass (big babies I know!) so they are in their prime. The only treatment our lambs have had is minimal worming, due to wet weather over summer. They were last wormed end of January. We try not to worm them unless it is unavoidable. It was either that or lose them. They have not had any growth promotants, hormones, dips, other chemicals or any other sneaky thing or hidden nasties either. Just Jolly Good Lamb – full of flavour and goodness..
They will be available for pick up in Week 15 starting 11th April.
Please call us in the office for further details.
