Ananda Palli is a community farm project of the Ananda Marga organisation. Our farm has been biodynamically certified since 1976. Over the years there has been considerable emphasis on adding value to farm produce. This required the establishment of a registered commercial kitchen facility. There is also a wood-fired oven on the property. We are now producing soy products in partnership with Ecoprama, which is an ethical business that makes & supplies high quality, natural products using mostly local and regional ingredients. We believe that sustainable communities can prosper when we develop regional food products that are made with sustainably and organically grown ingredients.
We produce fresh soy milk, made the traditional way in small batches using certified organic Australian soy beans, raw honey and pure mountain water, all sourced from our region. Our soy milk does not contain preservatives, additives, artificial flavours or sugar. The shelf life is 14 days and it needs to be kept in the fridge below 4°C. It is nothing like the soy milk you get in the supermarket!
We started making tofu in December 2007. Our fresh organic tofu has a firm but soft texture, unlike tofu that is available in the supermarket. Our tofu has a sweet taste and can be used for stir fry, deep fried, grilled or baked dishes. It can be frozen, but will have a slightly different texture after freezing. It is very good at absorbing the flavours in your cooking.
Tempeh was added to the range in early 2010. It is made from bio-dynamic and certified organic soy beans, rain water, tempeh starter (dried tempeh which may contain moulds, bacteria dry yeasts beneficial to the fermentation) and rice flour. It is a delicious source of protein.
