Anthony Foo came to Food Connect at the beginning of 2009. He farms on land where the owner has retired from farming but doesn’t want to sell, so they have worked out a lease arrangement that suits both parties. Anthony has two farms like that on the go which employ workers from the local community and another one on the way. Anthony farms organically but is not certified.

Anthony spent 20 years consulting in Far North Queensland and in the Pacific Islands, advising farmers how to grow with minimal or no use of chemicals. He is also a practitioner of Biodynamic farming methods. In Brisbane he has a keen interest in setting up roof-top farms and gardens and also in aquaponics - a system of growing vegetables in conjunction with farming fish. Food Connect is proud to support Anthony and his community based farming. He will be supplying us with old varieties of tomatoes, capsicums, cucumbers, corn and spaghetti squash.
